  • INFO: 4-H Military Partnership Training Opportunity

Through our continued partnership with 4-H, CNIC CYP is pleased to announce that the 4-H Military Partnership Project will host the upcoming Search Institute Virtual Training Series next month. Please share this information with your CYP teammates.

June 8th and 9th - Intentional Relationships Workshop
    Group A – 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. CST
    Group B – 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. CST
    Group C – 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. CST

Relationships are too important to leave to chance. Educational success and social-emotional development blossom when caring adults and supportive peers are present in young people's lives. Extensive research has documented relationships as the roots of social and emotional development for youth. Yet many professionals who work directly with youth - especially youth from marginalized communities – face challenges in forming well-rounded relationships that connect with the diverse needs of youth. This workshop helps participants learn to intentionally build developmental relationships with young people to powerfully benefit youth learning and development. Participants will be able to identify approaches to building developmental relationships that are available in the Relationship Builder's Guidebook included in the workshop.

July 15th and 16th - Inclusive Relationship Workshop
This session will build upon information learned in the Intentional Relationships Workshop, therefore making the 1st workshop a prerequisite.
    Group A – 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. CST
    Group B – 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. CST
    Group C – 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. CST

All young people need to experience developmental relationships, but studies show that significant numbers of young people in schools and community programs do not experience developmental relationships as often or as intensively as they should. Creating an inclusive environment where all young people feel known, validated by, and connected is a prerequisite to positive youth development. Participants walk away with a personal plan to build developmental relationships with all young people, and with a series of practical tools to add to their relationship-building toolkit.
